Watching cherry blossom has been my dream since early childhood. This might be
the influences by my mother who has a big obsession in Japanese culture. However,
the desire has grown stronger when I attended Japanese Language classes during
my college time where I heard how beautiful it is during the spring season by
my sensei. I have to admit that I am not really a fan of pink; but,

these utterly beautiful flowers are exceptional.
Cherry Blossoms are the symbolic of spring and the renewal of time to Japanese.
The first day that we arrived the land of sushi, I can't hold myself anymore
but to visit these overwhelming flowers as they fleet quickly.

| This garden has more than 1,500 kinds of cherry blossom trees which bloom in late March to early April. |

| There are 3 access gates to Shinjuku Garden: Shinjuku Gate, Okido Gate, and Sendagaya Gate. We went there through Shinjuku Gate which is just less than 10 minutes walk from our accommodation. |

| Shinjuku Garden comprises 3 different types of gardens: Japanese Landscape Garden, French Garden, and English Landscape Garden. There is also a lovely greenhouse with many tropical flowers. |

| During the spring season, this garden is one of the best hanami spot. |

| 花見 はなみ, "flower viewing", which you can see lots of the locals eating, drinking under cherry blossom trees while enjoying the transient beauty of these flowers. |

| My friend told me that another best time to visit this garden is during Autumn when the leaves changes. There are a lot of trees changes their leaves colors, but the maple trees are particularly beautiful. |

| Shinjuku garden opens every day, except Monday. However, during cherry blossom season, this park will open every day throughout the week. |

| Despite of pink さくら, "sakura flowers", there is also white sakura that I first knew. |
